Under bright conditions, you will prefer lower magnification, but under any circumstances the versatility of the eyepiece will give you plenty to work with. Be forewarned that this set is heavy: the tripod is steel, rather than aluminum or plastic (polycarbonate). If you intend to walk long distances with it, you may want a second, lighter, tripod. The stay-on cover has a thick, padded shoulder strap for carrying. The 'dual-speed' focus will seem strange at first, because one direction is used for gross focus and the other for fine focus. No verbal description is as useful as practice in the field, but you will get the idea quickly. An excellent scope for home or field. NOTE: The stay-on cover protects the objective lens; no plastic objective lens cover is included. Made in Germany.
